September News Roundup

It’s been a busy couple of months since Slattery Falls released, and I’ve been so pleased with the positive response so far. 65 reviews on goodreads as we speak.

I’m also looking forward to the release of Silver Shamrock’s Midnight From Beyond the Stars containing my story, “I Will Meet You There.”

This story was originally written in second-person, and it was fine, but I came to realize I was using that POV as a gimmick, not because that’s what the story called for. I ended up rewriting it in third-person and was thrilled with the way it turned out. “I Will Meet You There” was my first attempt at writing an outer space/alien story, and I wanted to focus on isolation. The title was taken from the lyrics to a Thrice song called “Beyond the Pines”, which is in, 5/4 time. You’ll have to check out the anthology if you want to see why that matters.

I’ve also got a couple interviews to share with you. On Saturday, I appeared as a guest on Author Question Time, hosted by Ross Jeffrey and Kev Harrison. During this conversation we talk about Slattery Falls, indie publishing, podcasting, and Jaws.

You can watch the interview here.

I was also lucky enough to appear on Cursed Morsels with Eric Raglin. In this interview we talk about Slattery Falls with some spoilers at the very end of the episode (warning given in the episode), writing neurodivergent characters, writing in different sub genres, and lots more.

You can listen to the interview here.
